The Black Jewels Series contains blue-orange morality and the overall narrative is one of survivors enacting revenge upon their abusers and healing from their abuses. The genre is Romantic Dark Fantasy, and the series contains many horror elements as well as a great deal of possibly triggering material.

Some of these issues include: pervasive sexual themes, hypersexuality, casual reference to sex and rape, abuse, sexual abuse, castration, genital mutilation, rape, sexual slavery, prostitution, abuse of children, sexual abuse of children, believed incest that is later discovered not to be, false accusations of incest, actual incest, PTSD, mental illness, psychosis, emotional abuse, spiders, blood, drinking blood, casual murder, death, implicit BDSM, war, genocide, and gender essentialism.

Abuse, sexual and otherwise, is an element of Daemon's traumatic backstory.


Veiling is a shorthand term for a no-questions-asked, no-explanations-necessary, carry-on-nothing-to-see-here opt out. If at any time in a scene you're uncomfortable, simply say, 'I'd like to veil.' (And perhaps add what you wish to veil, otherwise I'll just discard the beat entirely.) I'll skip the topic/element without otherwise interrupting the rp unless you also request to stop.
